Embodied Movement Workshop
Do you feel disconnected from your body?
Do you find yourself living mostly in your head?
Do you long for movement that isn’t about fitness, performance, or appearance?
Are you curious about exploring your inner world through music, movement, writing, and conversation?
You are not alone.
Many of us were taught to manage and control our bodies — not listen to them. We override signals. We push through. We disconnect. This workshop is an opportunity to practice something different.
Join us for this 2.5-hour embodied movement experience focused on nervous system awareness, authentic expression, and relational integration.
Workshop intentions:
-
-
-
Create a space of safety, choice, and bodily autonomy
-
Cultivate curiosity toward sensation, emotion, and movement
-
Explore movement as expression rather than exercise
-
Practice listening to internal cues instead of overriding them
-
Engage in guided reflection and relational dialogue to support integration
-
Leave feeling grounded, connected, and resourced
-
-
Dates & Details:
Date: Monday, May 25
Time: 6:30-9 pm

This 2.5-hour workshop will include:
-
-
- Opening: Grounding practices and community agreements rooted in consent and safety.
- Guided Free Movement: Music-guided ecstatic/free movement with optional prompts. You are always in charge of how you move. Stillness is welcome. Big expression is welcome. Everything in between is welcome.
- Integration & Group Reflection: Journaling (prompts provided) followed by facilitated dialogue to help you process and integrate your experience. Sharing is always optional. We will close with a brief grounding meditation before ending our time together.
-
Please bring water, a journal, and a pen. Wear comfortable, layered clothing you can move in. Tea and some light snacks will be provided after the ecstatic dance portion of the evening.

Meet Your Facilitator:
Hi! I’m Gillian.
I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #22774), Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, and long-time movement professional with a background in Kinesiology and fitness instruction. My work bridges relational therapy, nervous system education, body neutrality, and joyful movement.
I believe we are wired for healing — and that reconnection with the body is often a powerful place to begin.
My approach is trauma-informed, autonomy-centred, and grounded in the belief that you deserve to feel at home in your body.
It would be an honour to create this space with you.
