Our 4th annual event raised another $20,000!

What a day we had on Sunday October 27th. Thank you to all who attended, volunteered their time and made donations to support this event and this wonderful cause! 

What is Move with Meaning?

Move with Meaning is an exciting one-day event designed to promote healthy active living, while raising awareness and education about domestic violence, and funds for Haven Society. In this 4-hour fitness extravaganza (read: super awesome sweaty smiling time) you’ll have the opportunity to take 5 amazing fitness/ yoga classes from some of the best instructors in Nanaimo alongside 80 other AMAZING women!

Why Move with Meaning? Why Haven?

Did you know…1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence or sexual abuse. This stat is not ok. I wish we lived in a time where this wasn’t the case but we do. So we need to stand up. We need to raise awareness. And we need to provide education, tools and support to help those who are impacted – women, children and families. This is exactly why I started Move with Meaning.

  • In 2016 we had 50 participants and raised $9,047.45.
  • In 2017 we had 100 participants and raised $21,724.25.
  • In 2018 we had 107 participants and raised $20,700.00.
  • In 2019 we had 96 participants and raised $20,906.13.
In 3 years that’s $72,377.83 raised to support the incredible work of Haven Society.

That support and the community support Haven receives means that this year they were able to help 5000 people through their services and programs. That’s 1000 more than last year. That is what Move with Meaning is all about. Bringing awareness and funds to this important cause – and helping those in need.
