Move with Meaning is an exciting one-day event designed to promote healthy active living, while raising awareness and education about domestic violence, and funds for Haven Society.
During this 4-hour Fitness Challenge participants strengthen their body and their community with a 6-instructor master class. We’re thrilled to have some of Nanaimo’s best fitness instructors on board to provide an amazing fitness experience.
We are gearing up for an even bigger and better 2018!
BIGGER venue (we’re doubling the space)!
BIGGER sound (professional sound and audio visual support including screens live streaming the workout)!
BIGGER goals (we’re gearing up to raise $50,000 for Haven Society – and we know we can make it happen)!
How will we do this?
By inviting 200 amazing participants (that’s you!) to rise to the challenge and fundraise. To support you in your incredible efforts we’re launching a NEW online fundraising option this year! That’s right you’ll be able to harness the positive power of social media and email to get your friends, family and raving fans on board to support you and this incredible cause!

Gifts of Gratitude (aka your super sweet swag bag): each participant receives a super sweet swag bag! The swag is still rolling in…but so far it includes an exclusive Move with Meaning custom swag from Super You, Power House Living Foods Co, Alair Homes, and Charlie Parker Group (stay tuned for exactly what…as soon as it’s confirmed and we have our proof we’ll announce what it is in the Facebook Event!), a $10 Gift Card from Archer+Arrow, a full size bottle of OPI Nail Lacquer from Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort, a $10 cash card from Frontrunners Nanaimo, a $10 Woodgrove Centre Gift Card voucher and a special $79 exclusive registration special for the Live it Up 8k (that’s $20 off the early registration price)!

The team that collectively fundraises the most will get a Pizza Party sponsored by Mambo Gourmet Pizza (and of course ALL the bragging rights!). What better way to connect with your work colleagues, friends or loved ones than by having a sweaty fun time together?! To keep things fair we’ll be limiting teams to 10 people. 2017 Event Recap:
WOW! What an incredible day! The goal of this event when I started it was to help the community come together to raise funds for a worthy local cause and have fun doing it. But it’s become something more.
MORE than the money raised was the way this community stepped up and showed their support. Not just financially, but also with their voice.
1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence or sexual abuse. This stat is not ok. I wish we lived in a time where this wasn’t the case but we do. So we need to stand up. We need to raise awareness. And we need to provide education, tools and support to help those who are impacted – women, children and families.
Last year we had 50 participants and raised $9,047.45. On Saturday October 28th we had 100 participants and raised $21,724.25.
