Amanda’s WHY

I have struggled with my weight and eating habits for as long as I can remember. There were some sad parts of my childhood that food always brought comfort too. Unfortunately, as I entered high school, I was overweight. What had been my comfort for so long had become my worst enemy. This eventually led to me over exercising and starving myself into a body that I only really sort of accepted. Things took a turn for the better when I met my husband, but my relationship with food was far from perfect. And while I had been regularly active for most of my life, it wasn’t until after I had my second daughter that I really discovered my love of running and fitness. After my son was born in March 2014, I was again overweight and knew I needed to get to a place of acceptance and love for myself. And while I was losing weight with running, I still wasn’t where I wanted to be. I had been motivated by Gill’s posts on Facebook and Instragram for months before I reached out to her. She reached back in a big way. At first, not about the 21 Day Fix, but just about ways I could come out of the dark place I was in and into the light. Soon after, The 21 Day Fix did come up, and I decided to go all in. The first 21 days were life changing for me. I learned how to fuel my body with foods that I love, thus gaining a healthy relationship with food. I took 30 minutes for myself every day and it wasn’t long before the inches started coming off. Now, 4 months later I am the strongest, fastest, most confident, and happiest I have ever been. I did something I didn’t think I could do and it changed me. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for me and my family. I go forward hoping I can help others the way Gillian has helped and motivated me. If I can do it for just one other person, give them the gift I have been given, I would be very happy.
