Be Body Positive #2: Be Kind
When you struggle, what does that little voice inside say? Is s(he) kind? Does that lift you up? How does it make you feel?
Be Body Positive #1: You are Unique!
You are incredibly unique. There is no one else out there with exactly your genetics, interests, commitments & preferences. Cool right?! But here’s the catch! No one specific “plan” is going to work for you the same way it works for your neighbour, friend, sister or stranger on the internet. But yet we often think it “should” right?!
The SIMPLE “trick” you can use to master motivation!
Do you ever feel like you’re missing some BIG SECRET to motivation. Why is it that some people seem so incredibly motivated and some days it feels like you’re just surviving? This fascinates me too – as a human & as a coach. Which is why any time I hear about a great book about habits I’m intrigued.
What if you’re already “there”
What if you’re already “there.” You know…”there” that elusive place you’re working towards with your health & fitness. We all have one…but I believe that “there” is sucking the JOY out of your life. Let me explain…
What if reaching the goal isn’t the point?
Fitness tends to be quite timeline focused. Hey, it’s part of SMART goal setting and an important one. But when we get too focused on a timeline we can get caught up in the rush of achievement and (I think) miss the point. I know that seems like an extreme opinion….but let me explain.
Kale & Apple Salad with Chicken
This was a “I haven’t meal planned but here are some ingredients” fly by the seat of my pants for dinner moment. And it turned out really well! (makes 4 servings)
What if you just embraced NOW?
I love goals. Like REALLY love goals (clearly). I think they have their place (an important one at that). But I also think it’s important to have some space from your goals. Perspective. Respect. Healthy detachment.
Be a body lovin’ goal smasher!
Being body positive doesn’t mean I think we should all abandon our fitness plans & throw our running shoes out the window because we “love our body as it is.” What I’m suggesting is we re-frame what “loving our body as it is” means to each of us – as unique individuals.
Fitness FAQ: How often should I workout?
The answer to this question really comes down to what your goals are and also what your schedule permits. In an ideal world the research generally supports that it’s beneficial for most people to move daily for 30 minutes for health benefit (aka prevention of disease). But if you’re like me, and you’re looking for more than “prevention of disease” and have some goals in mind then we’re talking about fitness.

Hey kids, want a cookie for breakfast?! UM, hello, I just got mother of the year award! The kids were skeptical, but I’ve got a secret! These “cookies” are full of great nutrition!
